Frequently asked questions

A few things to know about Maestro on Kickstarter.

What is Maestro?

Maestro is Off Piste’s wrist-worn gesture controller for skiers and snowboarders. It works with the Off Piste app to control music and voice messaging while your phone stays in your pocket.

What can I control with wrist gestures?

All your music controls including next/previous song, volume up/down, play/pause, plus live voice messages

What are parties?

The Off Piste app runs a live voice channel, called a party. Maestro's double-tap sends a quick voice message to everyone in your party without touching your phone.

Does voice chat work without mobile coverage?

No. Live voice chat runs through the Off Piste app and need mobile data coverage. Maestro is not a substitute for an off-grid radio.

When will Maestro ship?

Estimated delivery for Kickstarter backers is January 2027. That's an estimate, not a guarantee—hardware timelines can move, and we'll post production updates to backers at each milestone.

When does Kickstarter charge my card?

Only if the campaign hits its goal. Kickstarter is all-or-nothing: backers are charged when the campaign closes funded. If it doesn't reach the goal, no one is charged.
